Cycle Routes

The National Cycle Network routes form the backbone of the network and the Sustrans Rangers work hard to maintain them. Sustrans have a online mapping system showing their routes in the Derby area.

Derby Cyclestreets is currently in beta testing but offers some very impressive facilities for finding cycle suitable routes. See this link for more information.

Derby is fairly flat and there are lots of quieter back street routes.

Also available is the City Council's map, FREE from the Tourist Information Centre in the Market Square.

Maintenance

Derby City

Within Derby City boundaries all highway maintenance issues as they may affect cyclists (eg potholes, inadequate/failed lighting) are handled by Street Care on Tel. 01332 715000 or use online form.

Derbyshire

For highway maintenance issues within the county of Derbyshire, but outside Derby city, report to Call Derbyshire on 0845 6058058 or email: call.centre@derbyshire.gov.uk . Further details here

The CTC offer an online service to report potholes. Once you've reported them the CTC route the information to the people responsible for the roads and report back on progress. See this link
