LTP3 Transport Seminar - A City Designed for CyclingOur seminar "A City Designed for Cycling" was held on Monday 10th May 2010. The Local Transport Plan (LTP) is extremely important. It defines the transport priorities that the council has set for itself. When changes to the transport network are planned, the LTP is used to justify, or possibly refuse, the assignment of budgets. The new LTP (LTP3) is being prepared right now. The presentation delivered at the seminar by Tony Roelich can be downloaded from here If you would like to contribute to the debate, you can send an email or a letter to the address on the contacts page. The feedback form can be downloaded from here We will forward copies of these into the LTP3 consultation process, along with comments made at the seminar. Thank you to all those who attended the event and provided feedback. This has been really well received by the council and is an excellent first step in gaining the right level of provision for cycling in the LTP3. Bad Cycle provision galleryA new feature of the website is the collection of "how not to provide cycle facilities" pictures. See the gallery here. All contributions welcome. Video to improve cyclist/lorry driver relationsTransport for London have created an educational video to help encourage better relationships between lorry drivers and cyclists. Although aimed at London the points apply to all cities. Thanks for Dave Waldram for finding this. See the video here |
